    Seychelles is hot and humid, with an average yearly temperature of 84°F (29°C), and average sea temperature rarely dropping below 81°F (27°C). However, the heat is usually mitigated by refreshing sea breezes, especially by the beaches.

    The cooler season in Seychelles is during the southeast monsoon season (May to September) and the warmer season is during the northwest monsoon (November to March). April and October are "transitional months" between the two monsoons, when the wind is variable.

The Seychelles islands are living museums of natural history containing some of the rarest species of flora and fauna on earth.

Safe and properly maintained nature trails by the Ministry of Environment:-

 

Glacis Trois Freres – Mahé Island (Morne Seychellois National park) Length 800M, Altitude 200M, Interest – Panorama and Pitcher plants, Difficulty – Low.

• Dans Gallas – Mahé Island (Morne Seychellois National park) Length 2KM, Altitude 310M, Interest – Panoramic views, Difficulty – medium to high, Getting there and Back = 2hr 30 min.

• Mare Aux Cochons – Mahé Island (Morne Seychellois National park) Length 7 to 10KM dependent of route taken. Interest – Landscape, Historic sites, Getting there and Back = allow whole day. Difficulty = medium to high depending on route taken.

• Anse Major – Mahé Island (Morne Seychellois National park) Length 2.4KM, Altitude 70M, Getting there and Back  3 hours, Interest Rocky landscape, ecology, coastal view, beach. Difficulty low,

• Morne Blanc – Mahé Island (Morne Seychellois National park) Length 1KM, Altitude 270M,Getting there and Back 2hours, Interest – panoramic view, cloud forest ecology, Difficulty – medium,

• Copolia – Mahé Island (Morne Seychellois National park) Length 1.2KM, Altitude 180M, Interest – Glacis ecology, pitcher plants. Geeting there and Back 2 hours. Difficulty medium to high.

• Anse Georgette – Praslin Island. Length 1KM, Difficulty Medium, Interest, panoramic view, rare plants, Normally with this trail it is not return via the same path, it is continued to the famous Anse Lazio beach and return via Anse Boudin.
• Valle De Mai and Fond Ferdinand – Praslin Island, these are world famous trails, the place of the famous coco de
mer and black parrot and also for the endemic palms.

 


On the trails you will be exposed with the sun, apply generous amount of sunscreen to avoid sun burn.
